I'm not sucking up - this is genuinely good stuff. I have been critiquing our emphasis on books and conferences for awhile but I haven't considered this aspect. To add to your idea about a slump I love to surf and I've found over and over again that if I get agitated at my inability to catch a wave in that session - that agitation only further ensures I will not catch any more waves. The frustration will cause me to make even more errors. So I need to clear my mind, take a deep breath, disconnect from that frustration and try again.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
